PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a small diameter part at the root of an antenna top with a built-in coil-like antenna element from being damaged by an impact load. SOLUTION: In this portable radio for supporting an antenna 2 provided with the antenna top 7 and a bar-shaped part 3 so as to freely pull it out and house it in a casing 1, a housing part 13 for protection for housing the antenna top 7 in a fitted state is provided on a projection part projected in a direction orthogonal to the axial direction of the antenna 2 from the main body part of the casing 1 of the portable radio, a hole 9 communicated to the internal space of the main body part of the casing 1 is provided on the bottom part of the housing part 13 for the protection and the antenna top 7 of the antenna 2 is supported so as to be freely pulled out and housed in the housing part 13 for the protection. Also, the bar-shaped part 3 of the antenna 2 is supported so as to be freely housed in the internal space of the main body part of the casing 1 from the hole 9 at the bottom part of the housing part 13 for the protection.
