PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide color filters improved in the shape defect of the alignment layers of the color filters formed with columnar bodies. SOLUTION: The color filters 1 for liquid crystal display devices have the columnar bodies holding liquid crystal-holding spacings on the colored pixel forming surfaces of the color filters 1. The columnar bodies and the colored pixels are coated by a transparent protective film 12. The color filters 1 are formed by setting the angle formed by the surfaces of the colored pixels and the flanks of the columnar bodies larger than the angle formed by the transparent protective film 12 formed on the colored pixels and the transparent protective film 12 on the flanks of the columnar bodies. |
