摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely measure asphalt pavement thickness with an ultrasonic wave. SOLUTION: In order to measure the asphalt pavement thickness T with an ultrasonic wave, the top surface of the asphalt pavement 1 to be measured is coated with a flattening material such as hard plaster 2, which is hardened. An ultrasonic-wave probe 3 is applied to the top surface of the flattening material to emit an ultrasonic wave into the asphalt pavement and also detects its reflected light from the asphalt pavement bottom part, and the asphalt pavement thickness T is measured from the propagation time (t). As the ultrasonic wave for measurement, a low-frequency ultrasonic wave of <=100 KHz is used. As the flattening material, the hard plaster is best used. Ultrasonic waves are made incident from nearby places and their reflected waves are put together to take a measurement.
