<p>The invention relates to a device where investment costs are reduced, contact of the gases entering the cooling tower and its lining and the mixture between the gas and the steam in it are avoided, and no chimney is required. The flow of scrubbed gas is discharged centrally of the cooling tower, encircled by the vapours. Ducts (1) for scrubbed gas from a connection flange (3) of the equipment (2) for the elimination of sulphur from flue gases directly and rectalinearly, with or without previously made intermediate supports, are driven across the lining (4) of tower (5). The discharge of gases from vertical outlet pipe connections (7) is above the plane of water dispersion (11), i.e. at least to the level of connection flange (3) of the equipment for the elimination of sulphur from flow gases. The diverting devices (6) have vertical outlet pipe connections (7) and guiding blades (8) and are positioned by means of pipe connections (7) with an angle of setting in such a way that the projection of the outgoing gas streams coming out of pipe connections (7) vertically and in the middle, fall into the rotationally-symmetrical axis of the cooling tower (5) in the zone of an upper ring-like supporting beam (9).
