<p>The method is used in ore mining and in the mining industry, for the conservation of wastes, etc. By it the rock massif in which the galleries and shafts are driven or sunk returns to its natural filtration state and the waters filtrating across it have the same quantities and concentrations of pollutants which existed before the works had been carried out. The pollutants contained in the water reduces in the course of time. The ecological state of the district is restored without any need for building expensive water treatmetn stations of large water quantities, as weel as to bury chemical and/or radioactive wastes from the dressing. The method consists in closing the outlet of every gallery or shaft by a water impermeable partition after the operation is over. Additional water tight barriers, antifiltration linings with water impermeable partitions and facings are made in the places where the shafts are sunk and the galleries driven and which have higher filtration coefficient than the average for the massif. 1 claim</p> |
