The orthopaedic seat support has two elevating sections(25a,25b) of the same shape which extend continuously over the length of the sitting surface and are symmetrically disposed in relation to its centre plane. The elevating sections have crown surfaces which at least in one section are inclined to the plane of the sitting surface in such a way that they intersect this plane on or near to the outermost boundary edge of the sitting surface.
