A novel hot channel section consists of an electrically heated tubular nozzle which extends to near the mold cavity of the injection molding tool and which has a blunt, especially slightly curved, mold cavity end. The nozzle is inserted in a tool opening which has a tapering end facing the mold inlet, such that a chamber is defined between the nozzle outlet and the mold inlet, the chamber communicating with the mold inlet and a relatively narrow annular gap between the wall and the blunt nozzle end.
