PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to provide a sure route guidance by clearly discriminating an intersection, in particular in the center of a city where a driver is liable to lose his way. SOLUTION: A next intersection in an advancing direction of its own vehicle is predicted by a prediction means 4 from a current position detected by a position detection means 1, an advancing direction of its own vehicle judged by an advancing direction judging means 2, and road map data of a road map being displayed to a display means 6, intersection picture data at the next intersection are read from an intersection picture data storage means 5 by a picture conversion means 7, an omniazimuth picture by the intersection picture data are cylindrical projection converted and a specified range with the advancing direction of its vehicle as a center is selected out of the data. After that, when the intersection approaches, the intersection picture within a selected range is displayed to the display means 6. |
