PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an automatic focusing device that attain a focusing at high-speed in spite of an inexpensive configuration. SOLUTION: Part of an image frame is set as an AF area, 1st image data in the AF area in the image frame are acquired in 1st image pickup in response to a 1st luminous flux from an object being a focus object passing through an opening 102a of an aperture 102 in the case that the aperture 102 is not shifted by an aperture shift mechanism 110, a 2nd image data in the AF area in the image frame are acquired in 2nd image pickup in response to a 2nd luminous flux from the object being the focus object passing through the opening 102a of the aperture 102 in the case that the aperture 102 is shifted by an aperture shift mechanism 110 in one vertical direction with respect to the optical axis, the mutual relation between the 1st image data and the 2nd image data is calculated, a distance and a direction up to a focal position of a focus lens 101 are calculated based on the mutul relation to drive the focus lens 101 to the focal position. |
