FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: device has split magnetic circuit, which winding consists of rectilinear independent members, between which magnetic wedges are located on outer side. Winding coils are arranged in each of rectilinear members of magnetic circuit on active side. Members of magnetic circuit are connected by means of hinges that provide possibility to set desired stator opening angles and to drive it close to ladle or furnace following shape of their outer boundary. This results in decreased non-magnetic space between stator and melted metal to be stirred. EFFECT: increased efficiency. 2 dwg
