The method involves coupling an electromotor (14) to drive the engine crankshaft round. A sensor (20) records the crankcase engine oil pressure. A torque recorder (7) is first attached to the crankshaft. Drive torque affecting the crankshaft is recorded at spark plugs holes opening outwards during one or more turns of the crankshaft. An Independent claim is included for a device for implementing the method.
