A liquid crystal composition contains a first component chosen from two specified compounds and a second component chosen from three specified compounds. A liquid crystal composition contains at least one compound of the compounds of formulas (I) and (II) as the first component and at least one compound of the compounds of formulas (III), (IV) and (V) as the second component. R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 = 1-10C alkyl; A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, A6 = -C2H4- or single bond; one of A3, A4 = single bond; X1, X3 = F, -OCF3 or - OCF2H; X2,X 4 = H or F. An Independent claim is also included for liquid crystal display devices using the liquid crystal compositions. |
