An absorbent article comprising a topsheet, a backsheet and an absorbent cor e therebetween is disclosed. The backsheet comprises a breathable microporous film with a layer of an adhesive composition, preferably a panty fastening adhesive composition, applied thereon. The adhesive composition is applied s o as to show stable adhesive properties compensating the absorption of a migrating portion of the adhesive composition into the microporous film.
