The retainer comprises a collar (1) for accommodating the shaft and a mounting plate (2) which is arranged at the end of the collar for accommodating the cleaning implement. At its other end the collar has a plug-in opening (3) for the shaft. The collar also has ribs at the inner side (4) of its walls so as to form clamping areas for the shaft. At least two clamping areas are formed, with a further clamping area formed by a threaded connection (7) that passes through a hole of the wall of the collar.
