A compressed air-operated commercial vehicle disc (3) brake (1) has a floating caliper. The brake has an opening (14) between the caliper front side (5) and the back (6) covered by a removable strut (13). The strut acts under compression or tension to absorb a considerable part of the force between the front and back.
