The flap element of the dashboard has a sealing section constructed between the flap element and dashboard element. The sealing section prevents an escape of foam material during an expanded forming of the foamed layer between the skin and flap element and skin and dashboard element. A fitting flange section(39) protrudes from a lower face of the flap element and is used to fit the flap element to the airbag housing. At least one protrusion(50) is formed on the flange and engages with the edge of an opening in the dashboard element. A section(51) is provided on the flange to break when the air bag deploys.
