A thermoplastic body (1) with fluid passages (3,4) is built up of layers (1a,1b,1c). The layers are preshrunk before machining the various passages and are then placed in a mold (10) where the contact surfaces (2) are pressed against each other. The layers are bonded to each other by heat, with any material movement taken up within the flow passages (3,4).
