The rolling process takes place at least in two stages. Firstly a predominantly axial material flow of an annular blank (5) is produced using the profile roll (1) and at least two further outer rolls (6). Secondly a predominantly tangential material flow is produced by using the mandrel roll and the profile roll until the required profile depth and outside diameter of the workpiece are attained.
