A wire electric discharge machine comprising upper and lower guide units (118, 109) provided on the upper and lower sides of a workpiece (25) and containing therein wire guides for guiding a wire electrode (119), feeder dies (33) provided in inner portions of the upper and lower guides (118, 109) and adapted to contact the wire electrode (119) so as to supply an electric current, inner and outer nozzles (50, 63) provided in at least one of the upper and lower guides (118, 109), a first piping system (74a, 74b) for supplying a processing liquid to the inner nozzle (50), a second piping system (40a) provided independently of the first piping system (74a, 74b) and adapted to supply the processing liquid to the outer nozzle (63), a first cooler (76) adapted to cool the processing liquid which is supplied to the inner nozzle (50) through the first piping system (74a, 74b), and a second cooler (77) adapted to cool the processing liquid which is supplied to the outer nozzle (63) through the second piping system (40a), the processing liquid the temperature and pressure of which are lower and higher respectively than those of the processing liquid from the outer nozzle (63) being ejected from the inner nozzle (50) toward the workpiece (25).
