<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the process, to reduce the cost and to improve an electron emission characteristic by using a material containing an organic metal compound having a high water solution characteristic and a good thermal decomposition characteristic. SOLUTION: This organic metal compound is expressed by the formula, it is applied between a pair of opposite electrodes on a substrate as a solution of 0.01-10 wt.% in the droplet state by the ink jet system using a piezoelectric element, and a surface conduction electron emission section is preferably formed at part of a conductive thin film after heating and baking. In the formula, R1 is hydrogen or the alkyl group with the carbon number of 1-4, R2, R3 are the alkyl group and polymethylene group with the carbon number of 5 or above respectively and the total carbon quantity of 17 or below, (l) is an integer of 2-4, (m) is an integer of 1-4, (n) is 1 or 2, (k) is 0 or 1, and M is metal ion. Pt having a stable low work function is preferably used for the metal M. The occurrence of burn deposits is reduced, droplets are accurately applied, and low-temperature baking is realized. A water-soluble polymer with the prescribed concentration and lower alcohol with the carbon number of 1-4 are preferably contained in the solution, and proper viscosity is obtained.</p> |
