<p>A plastic foamed synthetic closure for containers which closure simulates natural cork products is made by incorporating color concentrates (25) into the polymer melt and forming the concentrates into elongated streaks (27). The emulation is enhanced by accurately pivoting the foamed plastic material during production to form curved or sinusoidal streaks (27). The invention also provides methods for mass producing products in a continuous motion casting system, whereby complete products are formed in casting members, which members receive foam exiting from the die and allow it to be formed continuously therein. Finally, the invention involves a system (40) for holding and delivering supercritical carbon dioxide for use as a blowing agent.</p> |
