Ink jet printing sheet consists of a base, ink-receptive layer(s) and a coating developing gloss laminated consecutively to one side of the base and a back coating of pigment and binder on the other side. The gloss-developing coating is produced by casting and the coefficient of static friction between this and the back coating is <= 0.9 at 20 deg C and 65% relative humidity. An Independent claim is also included for the production of this sheet.
