Method of reducing silica (SiO2) deposits in the purification and recovery of hydrochloric acid (HCl), especially in the recovery of HCl from the flue gas from refuse and special waste incinerators, involves vaporizing the crude HCl and separating the silicon (Si) compounds by scrubbing the resultant dilute acid vapor with HCl of any concentration, preferably 1-36% HCl.
