The sampler has a pipe (2) between tank and mixer, with a valve (1) screwed into it. Asphalt binder flows around the valve, inside the pipe. Preferred Features: The valve is screw-operated and the tip of the threaded spindle has a ball- or cone sealing its interior from the line. The spindle includes transverse and longitudinal bores, permitting asphalt to flow out when the valve is opened. The longitudinal bore has greater diameter than the transverse bore. The valve is screwed into a mounting collar fitted between two flanges.
