A smoker's pipe comprises a component of ceramic sand bonded by CSH (calcium silicate hydrate) phases. An Independent claim is also included for a method of making the above pipe. Preferred Features: The material comprises 10-20 wt.% CaO and 80-90 wt.% ceramic sand, especially Liapor (RTM) sand, and is hydrothermally hardened after pressing.
