ZEOLITE COMPOSITE FILM AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

A porous substrate which is made of a zeolite having the same composition as or a similar composition to that of a zeolite film to be formed thereon and contains a casting agent is coated with a zeolite containing the same casting agent. The coated substrate is calcined to remove the casting agent simultaneously from the zeolite coating and the porous substrate. Thus, a zeolite composite film is obtained which consists of the porous substrate and a zeolite film formed thereon. Since the zeolite film has been regulated so as to show almost the same thermal expansion behavior as the porous substrate, it does not develop cracks.
