A low-power tractor has an infinitely variable transmission system (280). It has a hydrostatic-mechanical power take-off point combined with a gearbox which allows road operation, or delivers power for a work function. The power take-off point is so constructed, that when the road speed is zero, the hydrostatic drive is set to a negative adjustment. The power take-off mechanism is suitable for retro-fit to a tractor without disassembly of the engine block or chassis.
