A plectrum for string instruments comprising a flat body having three rounded corners and provided on the front side and the back side by knurling consisting of tips. The plectrum has a gripping portion (4) on its front side (2) and the back side provided by tips (6) mutually arranged in concurring lines. The gripping portion (4) of the plectrum may be divided into at least three sectors (41) where the tips (6) of each sector (41) are arranged in concurrent lines with respect to the tips of the adjacent sector (41). Each sector may be accompanied by at least one auxiliary sector (42), the tips (6) of which are arranged in concurred lines with respect to the tips (6) of the sector (41).
