The present invention concerns synthetic fibres for use in fabric production and a process for manufacturing such fibres. The fibres are heat-bondable and are capable of bonding to one another on the application of heat. The fibres also have the advantage of a low shrink force despite a high degree of shrinkage rending them particularly useful for incorporation in non-woven products. The fibres are a blend of 70-90 wt% polyethylene and 10-30 wt% polypropylene. |
