An automatic vending machine which can change a generalizing and controlling program to a new one in a short time merely by connecting a RAM card without attaching or detaching a ROM. The main controller (1) of the automatic vending machine generalizes and controls a plurality of components constituting the vending machine through a serial interface (8) and a serial bus (9) for in-machine communication. The generalizing and controlling program for generalization and control is loaded on a nonvolatile RAM (5). The changed generalizing and controlling program is read from the RAM card through an interface (6) for RAM card and a RAM card connector (7). The rewriting of the program is made when a CPU (2) is reset, when the time designated on the RAM card comes, or when predicted time at which the selling operations of the vending machine become relatively less comes. <IMAGE> |
