A miniature microscope referred to as micro microscope and in particular to a hand held light weight pocket size microscope capable of magnification to the order of at least 100 - 1000 times or more without involving use of combination of lenses as in case of compound microscope. The micro microscope comprises extremely small sized magnifying means selected from extremely small solid transparent sphere/hemisphere, non-volatile transparent liquid hemisphere and/or semi solid transparent sphere/hemisphere, said sphere/hemisphere preferably having radius in the range of 0.10 mm to 3.0 mm and refractive index ( mu ) in the range of 1.5 to 1.85. The micro microscope is adapted for viewing both under external light sources and under insufficient external light by in-built light source. The micro microscope is simple to manufacture and is cost-effective and can be used with various optical devices such as astronomical telescope, photographic cameras and even for magnified viewing of opaque objects. |
