Polymer melt guiding arrangement for production of fibers, films or small strips uses ultrasonic sensors for controlling process parameters

Polymer melt flows through a line (2) with a sensor for recording the melt parameters. The sensor comprises an ultrasonic emitter (6) and receiver (7) the former emitting an ultrasonic impulse which penetrates the melt before reaching the latter. An output signal is then produced for determining the process parameters. Independent claims are made for: a) a process for guiding polymer melt in a melt line using the claimed arrangement; b) a process for determining melt viscosity in the line using the same arrangement.
