PURPOSE: A method is provided to separate a dispersion having a continuous organic phase and a disperse aqueous phase in a carbolate producing process. CONSTITUTION: A method separates a dispersion containing 5wt% of aqueous phase. The method uses a static electricity absorption. The intensity of an electric field is at least 1000 volt per 1cm, desirably 3000 volt per 1cm for separating the dispersion. The method prevents a circuit from shorting and efficiently separates the aqueous phase from an organic phase even if using the high electric field. A container generating static electricity absorption is in various shapes, cylindrical shape, a round shape, a square shape and so on.
