PURPOSE: A watch timer control circuit is provided to have a flexibility so as to be executed on an integrated circuit such as a micro controller. CONSTITUTION: A watch timer control circuit comprises a select logic(15), a permanentenablement logic(12), a software enablement logic(14), and a watch timer(20). The permanent enable logic is connected to the select logic, and the software enablement logic is coupled to the select logic. The watch timer is connected to the select logic. The watch timer control circuit exists on an integrated circuit such as a microprocessor. The permanent enablement logic consists of one selected from a group of a non volatile memory, a ROM, a programmable ROM, an electrically programmable ROM, and a flash memory. The software enablement logic consists of one selected from a group of a volatile memory, a register, and a register bit.
