PURPOSE: A device for opening and closing the control unit of an elevator is provided without deformation of a panel door even if the panel door is forcibly opened or violently treated. CONSTITUTION: A frame(1) contains a ceiling crossbeam(2) and a couple of side crossbeams(3,4) stretched from the both end parts of the ceiling crossbeam. And a horizontal crossbeam(5) is integrally installed at the lower end part of one side crossbeam. Then, a panel door(6) is installed on the inner side of the side crossbeam for forming an arranging unit(7) of controller in the rear space of the panel door to contain a controller(8) of elevator. Then, the panel door is supported by hinges(10) at one edge for opening the front side of the controller. And, a spring(14) is attached between the rear surface of the panel door and the ceiling crossbeam for automatically closing the panel door. Moreover, locks(15,16) are installed at the opposite edge of the hinged edge in the panel door. Herein, the size of the locks is smaller than the thickness of the panel door.
