PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable use of a heat-storage type burner as a heat source in a non-oxidizing or reducing atmospheric furnace and to increase energy saving effect by widening the use of the heat-storage type burner. SOLUTION: At least one pair of the heat-storage type burners 2a, 2b provided with the heat-storage bodies 3a, 3b are arranged in a furnace body 1, and when fuel is burned with one side of the heat-storage type burner, the combustion gas in the furnace from the other side of the heat-storage type burner is exhausted, and the fuel combustion and the combustion gas exhaust are alternately executed with both heat-storage type burners so as to heat the heat-storage body with the combustion gas and preheat the air for combustion. In the case of setting the air/fuel ratio at the time of burning the fuel with the heat-storage type burner to <=1 and also, shortening the combustion time of the heat-storage type burner based on the request of turn down, non- oxidizing gas is supplied in the furnace through the heat-storage type burner at the blank time till changing the heat-storage type burner developed with the above case. |
