PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a serine protease that has higher safety, no problem on the source of supply and high substrate specificity. SOLUTION: This serine protease has the following properties and is obtained by culturing a strain of Trichoderma in an enriched culture medium and collecting the enzyme from the culture mixture : (1) action: having a trypsin-like protease activity, (2) substrate specificity: specifically hydrolyzing the C-terminus of a basic amino acid, (3) optimal pH: about 7-8, (4) optimal temperature: about 40 deg.C, (5) pH stability: in the pH range of about 5-10, (6) temperature stability: about 40-50 deg.C. |
