PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing cyanopyrimidines at high yield by the gas phase catalytic reaction of alkylpyrimidines with ammonia and molecular oxygen. SOLUTION: When producing cyanopyrimidines by the gas phase catalytic reaction of alkylpyrimidines with ammonia and molecular oxygen in the presence of a catalyst, an oxide including both tungsten and vanadium, in which an atomic ratio of vanadium to tungsten is a positive number of <=2, is employed as the catalyst to form cyanopyrimidines. |
