PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inexpensively manufacturing low molecular weight linear organopolysiloxane. SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method for the linear organopolysiloxanes mixture expressed by general formula 1: R3SiO-(SiR2O)n-SiR3, the organochlorosilane expressed by general formula 2: R4-ySiCly [R is H or 1-18C (substituted) hydrocarbon, may be same or different, (y) is 1 or 2, and (n) is 0 or an integer of 1 to 50] is continuously reacted with water including hydrochloric acid in a closed circulating system, and in this case, the concentration of HCl in the derived HCl-containing water is <=25 wt.%.
