PURPOSE: An exterior-used composition containing (A)more than one of carboxy vinyl polymer selected from carboxy vinyl polymer or alkyl-modified carboxy vinyl polymer and (B)a gellan gum is provided, which improves stability and feeling in use, and maintains viscosity of a product. CONSTITUTION: The gellan gum comprises of many kinds of polysaccharide containing glucose, glucuronic acid and ramnose in the ratio of 2: 1: 1. The carboxy vinyl polymer is an acidic polymer containing acrylic acid and the alkyl-modified carboxy vinyl polymer is a polymer containing alkyl acrylate metacrylate copolymer. A mixing ratio of the gellan gum is 0.01-1.5wt.%, desirably 0.02-1.0wt.%, and a mixing ratio of the carboxy vinyl polymer and/or the alkyl-modified carboxy vinyl polymer is 0.01-3.0wt.%, desirably 0.1-1.0wt.% to the total weight of the composition.
