PURPOSE: A flexible communication switching network is provided to switch communication signals, thereby realizing new protocol such as DTM(dynamic synchronous transfer mode). CONSTITUTION: A flexible communication switching network comprises a microprocessor(120)containing an internal memory(122), plural input buffers(101,102) respectively receiving input bit stream, and plural output buffers(111,112) respectively transferring output bit stream. The microprocessor is connected to the input buffers by a multi-byte bus in order to receive plural bytes and is operated under a control program in order to realize a switching function. The different ones of the input stream comprise data transferred to different protocol.
