PURPOSE: A method for transiting channels in a broadcasting satellite receiving system is provided, so that a viewer can watch screen with high quality, by exactly transit channels when broadcasting of a currently watching channel and the kinds are transited to other broadcasting channel. CONSTITUTION: A method for transiting channels in a broadcasting satellite receiving system comprises the steps of: distinguishing a broadcasting signal kind of a channel for transiting, when a try for transiting from a broadcasting channel, which is currently watched, to other broadcasting channel is conducted; switching to an automatic gain adjusting switch, corresponding to the distinguished broadcasting signal kind; detecting a channel by adjusting varied tuning frequency, according to the switched automatic gain adjustment; and displaying the detected broadcasting signal on screen by processing the detected broadcasting signal.
