PURPOSE: A method for detecting the trouble of an elevator is provided to detect any defect, to improve the efficiency corresponding to the defect and to rapidly detect the defect. CONSTITUTION: When the call of service is in a stopped state(STS) at a normal operation, a traveling is performed after opening and closing a door. A regular time is passed after the call without opening the door in the stopped state, the defect of the unable state of door opening is decided. When the regular time passe in the open state of door, the defect of unable state of door closing is decided. When there is call and the regular time is passed without opening a brake in the closed state of door, the defect of the unable state of brake opening is decided. When a safety device is separated and the regular time is passed in the closed state of door, the defect of abnormal state of safety device is decided. And when the regular time passes without changing a floor in the traveling state, the defect of the state without the change of floor is decided.
