METHOD FOR CONTROLLING OPTICAL PICK-UP OF REPRODUCING APPARATUS OF DIGITAL VIDEO DISK BASED ON MULTI-LAYER RECORDING METHOD

PURPOSE: A method for controlling optical pick-up of reproducing apparatus of digital video disk based on multi-layer recording method is provided to perform a stable focus work and obtain a stable reproducing signal by varying a gain of a still signal according to a size of a focus error signal to suitably respond to a sensitivity change of an actuator. CONSTITUTION: A focus error signal detected in a focus error signal detecting unit is transmitted to a microcomputer, and the microcomputer detects a size of the focus error signal(S101). The microcomputer checks as to whether the detected focus error signal is '0'(S102). The microcomputer maintains a gain value of a stop signal as a current value when the detected focus error signal is '0'(S103). The microcomputer decreases and increases the gain value of the stop signal when the detected focus error signal is not '0'(S104). A focus adjusting signal of a focus driving unit is varied according to the increase and decrease of the still signal.
