PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute the restoration treatment of a salt bath simultaneously with a nitriding treatment. SOLUTION: A pipeline is disposed in a spacing between a work supporting frame for feeding the work into a salt bath furnace and the inside wall of the salt bath furnace and the circumference of the pipeline is provided with a cooling means 6 to prevent the adhesion of a restoring agent into the pipe. The restoring agent is continuously fed by a screw feeder, by which the falling displacement of the salt bath surface per unit time by the vaporized restoring agent is lessened and the air bubbles discharged from the jet holes disposed in the reaction section of below the pipeline are reduced in diameters. In addition, the amount of the air bubbles is lessened, by which the splashing state is prevented. The salt bath furnace is provided with a space capable of executing the nitriding treatment in the state of fixing the restoring device thereto.
