PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the heat insulating properties per unit coating density in a member by incorporating gadolinia and zirconia into ceramic coating on the surface of a substrate made of metal and allowing it to have cubic crystals. SOLUTION: On the outside surface of a superalloy substrate 10, heat insulating coating composed of a pyrochlore top coat 20 is formed. This pyrochlore top coat 20 is composed of about 5 to 60 mol% gadolinia, and the balance gadolinia zirconia oxide containing zirconia and has cubic crystals. In the case of use for a turbine engine, the opposite side face 11 of the superalloy substrate 10 is cooled by cooling air, the outside surface 21 (exposed face) of the pyrochlore structural body is exposed to a high temp., plural holes communicating the outside surface 21 with the opposite side face 11 are provided, and the cooling air is allowed to flow from the oposite side face 11 to the outside surface 21. The substrate made of a metal is selected from the groups consisting of steel, superalloys, titanium alloys and copper alloys. |
