PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which executes the cracking and removing of volatile gases, such as formaldehyde, and executes sterilization as well with simple constitution. SOLUTION: During ozone generation in an ozone generating section 7, dampers 9 of openings 3 are opened and a fan 8 is run. Outdoor air is sucked via the openings 3 and the dampers 9 by running of the fan 8 and the ozone is sent to the ozone generating section 7 and is released outside from an opening 2. The outdoor air containing the released ozone is sucked again via the openings 3 and the dampers 9 and is sent to the ozone generating section 7 through the fan 8 and is released together with the fresh ozone outside from the opening 2. The ozone quantity is increased by repetition thereof. The formaldehyde in a room is oxidized and cracked by the generated ozone and is further sterilized by the ozone. Acidic gases, such as SOx and NOx, included in the air are adsorbed away by an acidic gas adsorbent.
