PURPOSE: A device and method for controlling luminance of LED in television is provided to easily know the status of the television by controlling the luminance of an LED. CONSTITUTION: A device for controlling luminance of LED in television comprises an LED luminance set key(20), a memory(22), a controller(21) and an LED current controller(23). The memory stores luminances of the preset LED(24) and the set LED(24). The controller(21) outputs control signals for controlling the current of the LED(24). The LED current controller(23) controls the current to the LED(24) by the control signal from the controller(21).
