PURPOSE: A rotation frequency controlling device of an engine according to the operation of an air conditioner of a vehicle and a controlling method thereof are provided to reduce unnecessary fuel consumption by making the rotation frequency of an engine to be converted according to the load state when operating an air conditioner. CONSTITUTION: A rotation frequency controlling method for an engine of a vehicle comprises the steps of: storing input reference values P1-P5 in RAM(s10); judging the turning on of a switch of an air conditioner(s20); measuring the pressure of the air conditioner if the switch of the air conditioner is turned on(s30); storing the pressure of gas(K) of the air conditioner in the RAM(s31); comparing the measured gas pressure with the input reference values to determine corresponding steps(step 1-5) and the rotation frequency(RPM)(s41-s82); controlling ISC servo by each determined step(s90); and adjusting a throttle valve according to the ISC servo control(s100). Herein, the load given to the air conditioner is judged according to the pressure of gas of the air conditioner input by measuring the pressure of the air conditioner, and the ISC servo is driven sequentially by setting up an ISC servo driving step corresponding to the load given to the air conditioner. Thereby, the open degree of the throttle valve is controlled to keep proper rotation frequency of the engine so that unnecessary fuel consumption and speed degradation of the engine due to driving an air conditioner are prevented.
