PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a U-shaped hydraulic vibration damping device capable of suppressing vibration in multiple directions with a comparatively simple structure. SOLUTION: Fluid 14 is introduced into a U-shaped tank 11 (11A to 11D) composed of a horizontal portion 12 and vertical portions 13 connected to both ends thereof. Vibration of a structural body of an object is damped with frequency of mutual movement the fluid 14. In such a vibration damping device, the U-shaped tanks 11A to 11D are combined in the state of the vertical portion 13 commonly used by the adjacent U-shaped tanks.
